Jaw Pain

What is TMJ/TMD?

If you’re one of the millions of Americans suffering from jaw pain, it’s not just your jaw that’s hurting.

TMJ/TMD happens when there’s an imbalance in the jaw muscles and joint, causing widespread pain and discomfort that often goes undiagnosed. Signs and symptoms include:

  • Pain and tension in the head, jaw, face, neck, and shoulders

  • Popping or clicking in the jaw

  • Earaches/ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

  • Difficulty moving the jaw/difficulty chewing

What causes TMJ/TMD (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder)

Infections, jaw injury, and orthodontic procedures may all lead to TMJ—although some cases may come on suddenly and with no apparent cause.

Why should you seek TMJ treatment?

Many TMJ sufferers live for years with unresolved pain and tension in their jaw, face, ears, head, neck and shoulders. Without proper diagnosis and treatment, their issues get worse and can affect their ability to function and enjoy life. The harmful consequences of untreated TMJ include:

  • The inability to chew and speak normally

  • Severe and chronic pain throughout the upper body

  • Lock jaw (the jaw “locks” in an open or closed position)

  • Malnutrition due to eating difficulty

You CAN get comfortable jaw pain relief that works. We offer effective, scientifically-based treatment that can dramatically improve the lives of those who experience TMJ!
